Founders

Welcome to Gumbo University. We are Code Lane and Courtland, co-founders of GU.

Our communities have never lacked talent. They have too often lacked access, opportunity, mentorship, and a table where talent can thrive. Gumbo University was founded to help build that table.

Based in Shreveport, Louisiana, Gumbo University is a creative education and production organization connecting hands-on learning with real-world experience. We bring together creativity, technology, education, entrepreneurship, media production, and community engagement.

We believe people learn best when they can create, experiment, collaborate, and build something real. Our work is rooted in helping individuals develop practical skills, share their ideas, and find meaningful opportunities to strengthen their communities.

The name Gumbo reflects our belief that every person brings distinct experiences, perspectives, and talents. When those ingredients come together, they can create something stronger. We are building Gumbo University—and the GU Collective—with that spirit of collaboration and shared purpose.

Thank you for joining us at the table.
